March 29, 2026 - MadMacs Crawfish wins it's 6th championship, Winter 2025-26 UDAHL Tier 2.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, and then it was the absolute BEST of times. This was a season of ups and downs for sure! We started off the season with two overtime wins, then lost 3 straight close games. The season then took a wicked turn for the worse and we lost 10 games in a row. However, something changed in mid-February. Some will say it was the water, as Trevor started bringing chilled water in the game bottles, and others will say we started to play cohesively as a team. Whatever it was, it changed for the better and we ended the regular season on a 4-game winning streak. Only mustering the #5 seed (out of 6) in the playoffs, the team faced the fourth-seeded Knights in game 1. An epic playoff performance by Steven Boyles (3G & 3A) plus goals by two of the oldest players on the team (Gallo and Stockley) propelled us to a 7-4 victory and a next-round showdown with the Clams. Exceptional goaltending by Danny Miller was on showcase in this game. Plus the rock solid defensive play from Biscoe, Collins, DiChiaro, Moore & Pyle forced a 1-1 tie through regulation and overtime. Shootout goals by Carson Moore and Steven Boyles advanced us to the next game in the winner’s bracket against the top-seeded Apes. After falling behind 1-0, the team rattled off two goals and added an empty-net goal for the 3-1 victory. Finding ourselves in a familiar situation in the championship game against the Blue Wings, the team was resolved not to let this championship slip away like the previous two seasons. After dropping the first game 5-2, we turned the tables on the Blue Wings in the deciding game by the same score behind stellar goaltending from Robbie Stock.  The Winter Championship was ours again!!

Jon Biscoe, Jack Boyles, Steven Boyles, Zach Collins, Kevin Danko, Zeke DiChiaro, Al Gallo, Mike Hauske, Trevor Johnston, Danny Miller, Carson Moore, Kieran Pyle, Mark Romaninsky, Carlie Smythe, Rob Stock, Don Stockley, DJ Welch.  Honorable mentions to our regular season subs: Jeff Bell, Jack Boyles, Evie Hill, Rob Riedel, Nick Woodward.

March 24, 2024 - The MadMacs Crawfish win the UDAHL Tier 2 - 2023-24 Winter Championship.

Our season had its ups and downs for sure! There was a four game heater followed by a four game losing streak. Overtime heart-breakers and overtime/shootout triumphs. We entered the double elimination playoffs as the #5 seed (out of 7). These playoffs were filled with exciting one goal games. First it was a comback OT win against the Zombies. We scored with 2 seconds left in the game to tie it then scored in OT to take the win. This was payback for the final playoff game of the summer season against them. Next game was a gutsy shootout win over the #1 seeded Clams followed by a competitive 2-1 victory over the Apes. The key components to this victorious run to the championship game were superb goaltending (Danny Miller) and a solid defensive effort by every skater. The championship game proved to be a domination of the #2 seeded Blue Wings and culminated with a solid 8-4 victory to take the CUP! The team went 4-0 in the playoffs, dispatching the #1, #2, #4, and #6 seeds along the way. CHAMPS AGAIN!!

Honorable mentions to our regular season subs: Mike Olivere, Stephen Mulry, Rob Riedel, Nick Wickwire, Bert Woods.

Fall/Winter 2023-24 Schedule:

The 1st Championship for the team.....Winter 2012-13

At the Fred Rust Ice Arena in Newark, Delaware on Wednesday, March 20th, 2013 at about 10:45PM…something changed. For an adult league hockey team, whose long 15 year plus history included over 60 different players, over 700 games , stitches, pulled muscles, broken bones, damaged egos and several team names: Mountain Men, Diamond Dogs, Conectiv Energy , Crease Monkeys, Toilet Ducks and ultimately: Matilda’s Crawfish…something changed. On that Wednesday night, several of the veteran players on the team discussed when they had last won a championship game….if there had been a win, the memory was distant. However, in this year’s 23 game season, for 25 hockey players who scored 96 goals, piled up 132 assists, made 678 saves, drank countless pitchers of beer, ate many plates of nachos…something changed.  Our team finally WON OUR LAST GAME OF THE SEASON which means we can now call ourselves…CHAMPIONS. Listed here, in order of games played for the team this season, are the names of 25 men who have now earned the right to call themselves CHAMPIONS: Phil Dakin, Kevin Danko,  Bert Woods, Al Gallo, Dan Paolantonio, Jeff Bell, Matt Coyle, Jon Strauss, Pete Leida, Mike Olivere, Tom Whitehair, Jake Collins, Jimmy May, Mark Romaninsky, Matt Clark, Dave Griffith,  Zack Collins, Josh Partner, John Griffith,  Nick Wickwire, Don Stockley, Vail Gualtieri, Bobby Crystle,  Paul Romaninsky, Ryan Griffith. Congratulations to the 2012-2013 University of Delaware Division II – Adult League Champions!
